How did humans decypher one language in order to translate it?
How did someone know what they were translating? Im learning French now, and I thought :
1) My French teacher is teaching me the language
2) Someone taught my French teacher the language.
3) Someone taught that person etc.
It must have started with someone? How did they know that what they were translating was correct?
